He is the son of Sheila (Crouch) and Raymond Elmer Beckley. His father was American, from Chicago, Illinois. His mother was English.
Gerry’s paternal grandparents were Raymond Elsworth Beckley (the son of Elmer Q. Beckley and Mary) and Agnes Mary Crawford. Elmer was born in Pennsylvania, the son of Jessie Beckley and Susan. Gerry’s great-grandmother Mary was German. Agnes was born in Illinois, to Canadian parents.
